We’re less than a week out from the start of the 2018 Richmond Jazz Festival!

This special edition of meet your RVA artist features a band who will be performing at both the 9th annual Richmond Jazz Festival and the Homegrown at the HIPP, happening this Friday at the historic Jackson Ward Hippodrome Theatre.

F.R.E.N.S. began playing its unique fusion jazz at Virginia Union University in the 90’s. Since then, bassist Carl Lester, drummer Alvin Spratly, keyboardist Lance Dickerson, saxophonist Kevin Simpson, and vocalist Rudy Faulkner - have traveled the world and graced many stages with their sporadic style of play.

Catch them and their never-the-same set on Friday night at the Hippodrome Theatre and on August 11th at the Richmond Jazz Festival.
